features:
1) 8 bit LED display ( w/ auxiliary output pins )
2) Four seven segment displays ( multiplexed )
3) PWM on an LED ( w/ auxiliary output pin )
4) ADC using a Pot ( w/ an auxiliary input pin )
5) Four input push buttons ( w/ auxiliary input pins )
6) UART
7) Header for LCD
8.) ICSP
9) Bootloader
10) USB powered
11) Software controlled reset for the mcu
12) PCB markings ( useful for easy coding and usage)
I intend this board for complete beginners. Since the bootloader doesn't need a separate programmer. Doing a very simple hack on the USB-to-Serial made this a plug-and-play board. It can be used
both on laptops or PCs.
Beginners should take advantage of the very user-friendly IDE and libraries of mikroC.
That is why I am using it's bootloader. After being familiar with the board and the
PIC mcu in general, the user can then try other compiler or even assembler.
I added a vb6 application for software reset of the mcu.
I will soon post some mikroC codes I made with this board.
This board still needs a lot of improvement. I am still confused on what to use on the auxiliary pins. The header pins I used for the LCD and ICSP pins comes from an old floppy. A very common disadvantage for being in the province.. :-\ :-X :-[
Anyways here is a video I uploaded on the 1st version of the board.
